Our goal is to keep your eyes healthy. Contact lenses are convenient and offer great vision without glasses but also come with potential health risks such as eye discomfort, inflammation, and eye infections that may cause vision loss.
HERE ARE SOME TIPS THAT WILL HELP YOU AVOID SUCH EYE PROBLEMS.
- Always wash your hands with soap and water and dry them with a lint-free towel before you handle your contacts or touch your eye.
- Apply a few drops of a multi-purpose contact lens solution to the lens and rub for 5 seconds in a side to side motion. Repeat on each side.
- Rinse both sides of the lens for 5 seconds with the multi-purpose solution.
- Store your lenses over night or for a minimum of 6 hours in a clean contact lens case. Clean and sanitize your contact lens storage case daily.
- Use only contact lens multi-purpose solutions to store and clean your lenses and replenish the solution daily. You can also try hydrogen peroxide based solutions for better comfort and cleaner lenses.
- Do not sleep in your contact lenses.
- Replace your lenses according to the doctor’s instructions. Over wearing your lenses is the main cause of contact lens related problems.
- Always have a pair of back up eyeglasses.
- Dryness is a common side effect of contact lens wear. Use contact lens rewetting drops for moisture and increased comfort.
- Before you are down to your last pair, call us to refill your prescription.
